ScorpionTrack specializes in one thing done properly: keeping vehicles from being stolen and getting them back when someone tries. That means monitored stolen-vehicle recovery run from a 24/7 Secure Operating Center, Automatic Driver Recognition tags that catch keyless theft, and automatic and remote immobilization that can stop a theft in progress. Every system is insurance approved and British engineered, protecting vehicles since 1973.
Here is what each of those specialties actually does.
Monitored stolen-vehicle recovery
This is the core of what we do. Our Secure Operating Center watches for the theft signal 24 hours a day. If your vehicle moves when it should not, our team contacts you to confirm, and if it is a genuine theft they coordinate recovery with law enforcement. We contact you, you do not notify us.
That is the opposite of a self-monitored tracker, which sends an alert to your phone and leaves the rest to you. If you want the full explanation, see what is stolen-vehicle recovery (SVR). Monitored recovery is the single biggest predictor of getting a car back.
Automatic Driver Recognition tags
Most theft now is keyless. In a relay attack the thief never touches your key, so a system that only notices the car being driven is already behind. ScorpionTrack Secure and Elite include two Automatic Driver Recognition tags. The system knows whether an approved driver is present, and if the car moves without a tag it alerts instantly.
It is the feature that turns tracking into real protection against keyless and relay theft. We go deeper in Automatic Driver Recognition explained.
Automatic and remote immobilization
Tracking a theft is useful. Stopping it is better. ScorpionTrack Elite adds automatic and remote immobilization. The engine will not start without a valid driver tag present, and a live theft can be stopped remotely, independent of the vehicle’s own immobilizer. Prevention beats recovery, and this is the tier that delivers it. There is more on the mechanics in how remote immobilization works.
Insurance-approved systems
Approval by a recognized standard means the system has been independently assessed, and it is often what your insurer wants to see before offering cover or a better premium. Every ScorpionTrack tier is insurance approved, and Secure is approved to the highest level of security. That approval matters at renewal, not only after a theft.
British engineering since 1973
A tracker is only as good as its worst night in the cold and wet. ScorpionTrack is British engineered and has been protecting vehicles since 1973, with weatherproofing rated to IP68 on Scorpion Go. Decades in the field are the difference between a unit that reports in when it counts and one that fails quietly. It is also why we can speak plainly about what makes a tracker better.
The four-tier range, and who each suits
The specialties above are packaged into four tiers so you match the protection to what you stand to lose:
- Scorpion Go is a battery-powered, IP68 option for vehicles where permanent power is not practical, or where you want a self-fit friendly starting point.
- ScorpionTrack Standard is hardwired, monitored recovery for everyday peace of mind.
- ScorpionTrack Secure adds two Automatic Driver Recognition tags and is insurance approved to the highest level, for drivers worried about keyless theft.
- ScorpionTrack Elite adds automatic and remote immobilization, for vehicles where you want to stop a theft, not just chase it.
Whichever tier you choose, the specialty is the same: monitored, insurance-approved protection that acts on a theft instead of just recording it. That is the full case for why ScorpionTrack is the best car tracker.
