Stolen Vehicle Recovery, or SVR, is the difference between a tracker that just shows a dot on a map and a service that actually gets your car back. The dot is easy. The recovery is the hard part, and it is what SVR is built to handle.
What SVR really is
A lot of cheap trackers give you an app and stop there. If your car is stolen, you are the one who has to notice it is gone, open the app, figure out where it is, call the police, convince them, and hope everyone moves fast enough. That is a lot to ask of someone who has just had their car taken.
SVR flips that around. It is a monitored service. Behind your tracker sits our Secure Operating Center, staffed around the clock. They watch for the signals that mean a theft, and when one happens, they act.
We contact you, you do not notify us
This is the single most important thing to understand about proper SVR, and it is where it beats a DIY tracker every time.
With a monitored service, you are not responsible for spotting the theft. If your vehicle moves without an authorized driver present, our operating center sees it and contacts you. You get a call. You confirm whether it was you or not. If it was not, recovery kicks in immediately.
Compare that to an unmonitored tracker, where nothing happens until you happen to check the app. By the time most people realize their car is gone, hours have passed. With SVR, the clock starts the moment the theft does.
How a recovery unfolds
Once a theft is confirmed, the operating center tracks the vehicle live and works with police to recover it. Law enforcement gets accurate, up-to-date location data instead of a stale last-known position, which is a big part of why monitored vehicles get recovered faster and more often.
That coordination matters. Police recover far more cars when they are handed live tracking and a confirmed theft than when they are working from a report and a guess. SVR exists to give them exactly that.
Prevention is even better than recovery
Recovery is great, but the best case is that the theft never succeeds at all. That is why our top tier, Elite, adds remote immobilization on top of SVR. A car that will not start or cannot be driven off does not need recovering. Prevention beats recovery, so where you can stop the theft outright, you should.
Where a car does get moving, SVR is your safety net, and it is a strong one.
Which plans include monitored recovery
Monitored tracking and recovery run across the ScorpionTrack range. Standard is the entry point for monitored SVR, Secure adds automatic driver recognition so the system knows when a car is moving without an authorized driver, and Elite adds immobilization to stop the theft outright. For trailers, bikes, and classics without permanent power, Scorpion Go brings recovery to vehicles a hardwired unit will not suit. See the full range here.
