“Tracker” makes it sound like the device does one thing: show a dot on a map. The good ones do a lot more, and the features are the reason one tracker recovers a car while another just records where it went. Here is what these systems actually do, and how the features map to the ScorpionTrack range.
Live location
The core job. A hardwired tracker reports where the vehicle is in near real time, so you can open the app and see it on a map. This is what turns “my car is gone” into a set of coordinates you can act on. Standard, Secure and Elite all provide live GPS tracking. Scorpion Go, being battery-powered, sends trip-based updates instead to protect its up-to-three-year battery, which is the right call for a trailer or classic car that sits unpowered.
Journey history
The system keeps a log of where the vehicle has been: routes, times and stops. Handy for keeping an eye on a young driver, checking mileage, or giving police a pattern to work with. Standard, Secure and Elite all record journey history.
Geofence and safe-zone alerts
You draw a zone on the map, your home, a depot, a storage yard, and the system tells you if the vehicle leaves it. Scorpion Go builds its protection around this: you arm it when you park, and if it moves while armed you get an alert and it is monitored.
Movement and tamper alerts
A good tracker notices trouble beyond just being driven off. It can flag unexpected movement, someone tampering with the unit, a tow-away where the car is lifted onto a flatbed, and a battery-disconnect attempt where a thief cuts the power. Standard covers movement and tamper detection. Secure and Elite add tow-away, tamper and battery-disconnect alerts with a back-up battery, so pulling the power does not go unnoticed.
Driver-recognition tags
This is the feature that catches modern theft. Secure and Elite come with two Automatic Driver Recognition tags, small fobs the system reads automatically. If the vehicle moves without a valid tag present, as it would in a relay or key-copy theft, the alert goes out instantly. It is the difference between tracking a car that has already been stolen and knowing the theft is happening as it starts. Standard and Scorpion Go do not include tags.
Immobilization
The strongest feature, and Elite only. ScorpionTrack Elite adds automatic immobilization, so the engine will not start unless a valid driver tag is present, plus remote immobilization that works independently of the vehicle’s built-in immobilizer. That means a live theft can be stopped rather than followed to a lock-up. No other tier immobilizes, and it is the clearest expression of prevention over recovery.
24/7 monitoring, the feature behind the features
Every alert above is only as good as what happens next. A self-monitored tracker pings your phone and leaves the rest to you. Our systems are watched by the Secure Operating Center around the clock. If your vehicle moves when it should not, our team contacts you to check it is not just you, and if it is a genuine theft they coordinate recovery with law enforcement. You do not have to notice first. That is the real product: not a device, a service.
